Vintage instruments with nitrocellulose lacquer finishes require more care and attention than modern polyurethane finishes that are being produced today. The cleaner is different than any other cleaner that you may have used with your musical instruments in the past.

Virtuoso Premium Cleaner was created to cut through years of build up whether it is wax, sweat, spilled beverages or cigarette smoke.

If your musical instrument is already clean, we suggest you use Virtuoso Premium Polish. In addition to offering your instrument a high luster, fingerprint resistant finish, the Virtuoso Premium Polish also provides a very high degree of UV protection. Both the Virtuoso Premium Polish and Virtuoso Premium Cleaner use a chemical reaction to break down residues. We do not use abrasives, which can harm the original finish of your instruments.

The polish is different than any other polish or cleaner that you may have used with your musical instruments in the past. Virtuoso Premium Polish is more of a protection product. During application the polish seals your finish with a strong glaze that helps slow down the oxidation of your finish and protect the color of the wood or the pigment in the painted or stained finish with an inherent UV filter.

This will help your musical instrument look new for longer or help keep your vintage musical instrument from fading. This glaze is also fingerprint resistant, allowing you to go weeks or months without another application. Simply get a clean cloth and wipe your instrument to restore the brilliant luster.

DIRECTIONS

1. Shake bottle well

2. Apply a dime size amount of polish or cleaner for each 6″X6″ area to be cleaned

3. Rub firmly in a circular motion moving out from the center and then back towards the middle of the area. Do not worry about pressure. Since there are no abrasives in Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner, and it is chemically programmed not to react with any type of varnish, shellac or lacquer, your finish will be safe.

4. Wipe excess polish and cleaner off and buff to a shine. Make sure you are using a clean cloth since Virtuoso Premium Cleaner is designed to attack waxes and other build-ups. You may wind up with a slight haze if there are any other polish or cleaner residues on the cloth.

IMPORTANT: Use a clean cloth for each application.

A Word of Caution & Recommendation:

Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner are very effective. Your instrument will have a very high gloss shine which is desirable to most collectors, but we have had a few people say that the Virtuoso Premium Polish was too shiny for their personal taste. If you have any concerns about your instrument’s finish being too shiny, please test a small inconspicuous area first to see how you like the results. Virtuoso Premium Cleaner will clean your instrument without enhancing the finish’s natural luster if you prefer a low gloss appearance. Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner are different than any polish or cleaners you may have used before. They are designed specifically for vintage instrument finishes because they require more care and attention than modern polyurethane finishes.

We do not recommend using our products on finishes that are checked as the products can seep into the cracks and near impossible to remove.

Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SATIN OR MATTE FINISHES

Please do not use Virtuoso products on inexpensive foreign imports (i.e. Firefly) as they are constantly trying to become more cost-efficient at lower price points and may be using some kind of finish that is not polyester, polyurethane and certainly not nitrocellulose lacquer. Virtuoso products are designed to be used with those three finishes and we can’t be held responsible for any damage virtuoso products may cause to a finish that is not one of the three types mentioned above. If you are unsure what type of finish your guitar has, please don’t use Virtuoso products on it.

Most manufacturers recommend using just a damp cloth to clean a satin or matte finish. Using Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner on a satin or matte finishes are safe, however, the finish will become glossy which most people do not want. Once you use Virtuoso Premium Polish and Cleaner on a satin or matte finish, you will not be able to reverse the glossy shine back to a satin or matte finish.

virtuoso created a cleaner that will cut through years of build-up… whether it is wax, sweat, spilled beer, etc… all without lifting or damaging the finish.

If your instrument is already clean, apply some Virtuoso Premium Polish to a small area and then hold up your instrument to the light to see how much deeper the luster is in the area that was treated. Virtuoso Premium Polish also provides a very high level of UV protection. This will keep your finish from fading any further than it already has. If you own a newer instrument, it will keep it from fading at all.

We recommend re-application once a month if your instrument is on display under fluorescent lights or exposed to direct sunlight.
